Among its many health care programs for underserved communities in the Pacific, Aloha Medical Mission runs Hawaii's only free dental clinic, providing care for about 120 patients a month who lack insurance or other means to pay.
But when the program itself needs some free help, it turns to handyman Victor Messier.

The winner of the Ad 2 Honolulu 2012-2013 public service campaign is — drumroll, please — the dental clinic at Aloha Medical Mission.
The organization of advertising industry professionals ages 32 and younger will create an advertising, marketing and public relations campaign that could be valued at around $1 million.

The Aloha Medical Mission (AMM) will come back to Bohol to conduct a free Surgical-Dental Mission at the Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital on February 26 to March 2, 2012.

Central Pacific Bank (CPB) donated 500 shirts – valued at roughly $7,000 – to Aloha Medical Mission (AMM). AMM will ship a portion of the shirts to Manila, Philippines, on Wednesday to be distributed by Gen. Charly Holganza to the low-income residents. The rest of the shirts will be given away during future medical missions to the Philippines; the next mission is set for October 2011.

Last weekend, the Rotary Club of Metropolitan Honolulu worked tirelessly to give the Aloha Medical Mission building a facelift. Forty Rotarians spent Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 1, building new stairs for Hawai‘i’s only free dental clinic. They also painted the interior, built storage shelves and laid new flooring in the clinic’s waiting room.

The Honolulu Professionals Foundation (HPF) presented Dr. Brad Wong, Aloha Medical Mission board president, with an $8,500 check on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010. The money was raised at HPF’s most recent fundraising event at Ka Restaurant & Lounge on Nov. 10.

Aloha Medical Mission volunteers spent five hours at the Mark Glen Auction’s Sand Island warehouse on Saturday, Nov. 20, loading a 40-foot container with over $200,000 worth of medical equipment and supplies for shipment to Bacolod City, Philippines, for distribution to hospitals and clinics in the area.
